Hi all!
A quick update as the computers here are realy unreliable (complete nightmare in fact!) and not sure if it will even work. We have had a great few days, even if Bolivia has been an "experience"!
We are in Potosi, where there used to be a silver mine which can still be visited (still mines Tin etc) but Gayle and I are giving it a miss due to my extreme clautrophobia and Gayle{s asthma! We got back yesterday from Uyuni, where there is the largest salt lake in the world (pictured above)...we visited it and it was fab for taking pictures against the white of the salt flat and the blue sky...you'll see what we mean when we eventually get pics up (hopefully get this done in Argentina over the weekend, its apparently a lot more civilised!) got some great fun pics of us and the group. Another highlight of Uyuni was the pizza restaurant at the hotel we stayed at, run by an American guy (minuteman pizza at Hotel Tonito) definitely the best pizza in South America, if not the world!
My best moment of our time in Bolivia was mountain biking down Death Road, the world's most dangerous road...Gayle gave this a miss! I'm so glad I did it, it was downhill most of the way, with 800m cliff drops right beside us, WOW! What an experience though and you'll see how much fun it is when we get the pics up soon. Look out for all our Bolivia pics coming soon!!!
Better go as we are leaving soon for a town near the Bolivian border, and then will cross the border tomorrow into Argentina where we will stay in Salta. It's my birthday tomorrow so don't think it will be a very exciting day (driving all day!) but we will hopefully get a little celebration at night or on Sat, as one of the other guys in the group turns 25 that day! We are all going white water rafting and zip-lining at some point in the weekend as a joint celebration, can't wait :)
Pics up soon...keep an eye out!
Miss you all,
Rach and Gayle x
