We knocked for Rebecca and martin at 07:15 to head down together for breakfast. There was one more table in the restaurant than last night and we sat down and were given menus. We all went for the american breakfast with egg, toast, sausage and bacon although in the photo of the breakfast there were hash browns, not happy with false advertising especially if they contain something as glorious as hash browns. While we were eating, Doung came over to us and said that when we finish we should walk along the sea and meet at the big stage as there is a cycling race going on and the roads have been blocked off.
Once we had all finished eating, we checked out and walked along the sea. The roads were busy with spectators and loads of people wearing the appropriate cycling gear with their bikes. We got on a small boat and proceeded with the short journey to our bigger boat. There were people we didn't know on the boat this time and we sat on the sun deck and chilled out. I got a beer not realising it was only 09:30, god knows what i looked like! I was so tired but me and daniel were sharing a cushion thing so couldn't really stretch out. There was an indian man downstairs playing bob dylan on the guitar and sadly it was another overcast day and it felt more humid.
We arrived at Halong City city around two hours later. We had to wait by the port until we could get the smaller boat to take us to land. We all got off and waited across the road at a cafe where i got a strawberry cornetto ice cream. Darryl was kind enough to give us some of his weed before we got back so we had enough to last us on our trip to Sapa, god love that man. We all boarded a mini bus which was full so we had to sit on the pull out chairs running through the middle of the aisle. Behind me were three Americans, two being older women and their accent was annoying me so much i put my headphones in to listen to music.
We stopped off again at a different art workshop where we walked around and had a smoke and a drink. They sold beautiful crystal ball things but they were pretty expensive, even the miniature ones. We all waited outside to get back on the bus and continue our journey back to Hanoi. I sat next to Daniel this time so i had a shoulder to rest my head on incase i wanted a nap.
As we arrived in Hanoi, the first drop off was for Darryl and Agoos to his house and then Rebecca and Martin were dropped off but they have to wait around until 21:00 for their sleeper train to do an easy trekking excursion at Sapa. Next, we were dropped off and on the way to our hotel we passed stall after stall after stall selling all kinda of shoes, mainly tacky ones. We also passed a street selling purely toys.
We said goodbye to the others on the bus and checked back into the hotel we were at before. Sadly, the room we had before wasn't available so we were put in a smaller one a lot less nice than the other and the wifi upstairs wasn't working. Once we showered, i messaged Darryl asking if he wanted to meet for dinner then went back up to the room for a joint. A few hours later i went downstairs to see if Darryl had replied but he didn't so Dan and I went out into town as we were quite hungry.
After walking around the hustle and bustle of night time in hanoi, we walked passed a small indian restaurant so decided to eat there. At first we were wedged on a table inside but when we went out to smoke they moved the table for us and we ate on the pavement. We ordered Chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, steamed rice and two naan breads and it tasted sooo good. If only indian was as cheap back home as it is here! Once we settled the bill we headed back to the hotel to chill out and get some sleep.
Doing taught us how to do the magic tricks he showed us on the first night with two elastic bands.
