We arrived in Mendoza after a 10 hour bus journey through the Andes, we should have been all refreshed and totally over the jet lag but we found that we weren't, after a lot of socialising and things in Santiago jet lag was at the back on the queue for things to do! So we booked into a nice quiet hostel and decided to get over it and put our heads down. The bus journey is meant to be wonderful but to be honest we were awake for 2 of the 10 hours and that was at the border crossing. There are a couple of piccys though, we managed that at least! On our first night in Argentina we decided to treat ourselves to a slap up meal and ventured out to find some cow and red wine! And this is just what we found, we had a lovely meal which cost about 15quid for the both of us and wine, a little on the expensive side we have recently found out, but we didn't eat out the whole time in New Zealand so we were treating ourselves!Mendoza is a lovely city with plenty of plaza's to stroll around, some safer than others and plenty of cafes and bars to sit on the side walk and watch the world go by. While we were here we noticed how much we were struggling with the lingo so decided to stay on for a week and take Spanish lessons. However, I stomped my foot down and demanded a pool, so after a big search of hostels with pools we found one which could fit the both of us in. After all the searching I only had time to sunbathe once and never put a toe in the pool! The Spanish lessons were great, just the two of us in the class so no one to hide behind when we didn't do our homework (mine got chewed up by the dog on the 3rd day to Aaron's amusement!) It was pretty intense and we poohed ourselves after the first lesson but it got easier as the week went on.There was a few little walks and stuff that we did, but nothing too much as we never really had time with all the home work, met some really nice people in the hostel who we spent the evenings with having bbq´s.After 10 days or so here it was defo time to leave...on a night bus to Cordoba.
