After KL we had a week in Langkawi where we did very little, it was extremely hot and rained with spectacular thunderstorms each day. We did do a couple of tours and hired a car for 24hrs so were not really that idle, added to the fact our room was a good walk away from the main buildings with a steep hill to climb in either direction. We arrived in Kuala Lumpur Last night after a short flight 35mins and 1hr drive by cab from the airport. Total distance approx 200 miles. The flight was vitually empty, we assume because it was a positioning flight! We explored KL from the monorail, getting to grips with where everything was. From Darwin we flew to Perth for an overnight stay. It looked as though we could have filled a few days there, but it was only due to the vagaries of our round the world tickets we were there in the first place. From Perth we flew to Singapore. We have had some amazing trips from here. We spent the night up in Kakadu and then had an early morning start to go for a road boat road trip to see Aborigine rock paintings. Avoided crocodiles, cyclones, scorpions, stingers, sharks and having a whale of a time. Went snorkelling for the first time with a dive master who was very patient. The great Barrier reef was something else.
