Finally to the country where we were gonna spend the most number of days in, ITALY, the football crazy country.
1st stop was a short stopover in Pisa. I'm sure everyone has heard about the iconic leaning tower of Pisa, and thats exactly where we made a beeline for, the moment we arrived at the location.
We were briefly interrupted by fake leather goods pirates whom swarmed us the moment we got down from the bus. But we had no trouble brushing them off our backs as we started making our way towards the tower.
After about 10-15 minutes of brisk walking, the angled tower came within sight amidst the numerous roadside stalls that has to be passed in order to get to our target. And as we approached the Tower, the crowd was building up as well. Apparently it was a day where a lot of holiday groups decided to visit the place too. But then again, everyday is probably like that too, given that its one of the most iconic structure in Italy.
Everyone wasted no time in whipping out their cameras and shooting the tower and its neighbouring cathedrals. It didn't take long for everyone to start posing with the leaning tower as the background. I wasn't any exception either. Finally I have the classic "2 hands supporting the tower pose" just like everybody else who visited the place. Its a classic pose which everyone should do!
After spending the next half an hour fooling around with various poses with the tower, I went around the stalls checking out the items on sale. There wasn't anything much, you could easily guess what they were selling, which were the usual tourists' goods like t-shirts, magnets, little replicas of the tower, etc. Its a pity though there simply wasn't enough time to try to get into the tower and check out the interiors.
Finally we have to head back to the bus, which Daniel threatened will leave without us as we were all given the "lost sheet"! All of us decided not to take the chance and returned to the bus on time faithfully.
And we continued towards Florence or Firenze as the Italians call it.
