Rhine..from one amazing countryside to another in 2 days. And I simply cannot have enough of these kind of sights. Viewing the wonderful works of nature just puts me at extreme ease somehow.
Travelling to the place had some hiccups though. We were brought to a castle and it was beautifuL! It overlooked the Rhine river and had all the medieval feel to it. The arduous walk from the bus to the castle was sure worth the effort. Then the shocking news came..we were at the wrong hotel!! The news was naturally met with a huge sigh of disappointment from all. It was really a pity cause the castle hotel was simply incredible.
But well, we had no choice but to get on with it. And off we went to the correct hotel. But first, we stopped midway in a little town for a visit to a traditional Cuckoo Clock shop and Beerstein centre as well. It was pretty interesting to see all sorts of steins and cuckoo clocks available in Germany. After a short time on our own. We gathered back at the bus area for a group shot.
We continued our journey to our hotel. When we finally reached, we were greeted warmly by the staffs. After settling down in our rooms, we made our way down to the dining area for a sumptuous and fun-filled dinner. We totally didn't see it coming but the elderly lady, who was the host, had tons of ideas up her sleeves during dinner. First she handed out fanny hats to everyone, I got a beer hat by the way and it was cool. Then she played music and got everyone to line up and move along with her to the music. We went round and round the area, out the hotel and back inside. Thereafter we formed a circle and danced to the cute songs she played. And guess what, she had pretty interesting dance moves to teach us! It was a really heartwarming evening. After all the fun, some of us stayed on to have some local beers and indulge ourselves with the games the lady supplied us with.
I must really give special praise for the elderly lady host, she more than made up for the disappointment and trouble we went through during the day. She was an extraordinary host whom went the extra mile to make sure her guests are well taken care of and strives to give them a unforgettable experience. Deserves nothing less than an A. The day was good except for the minor hiccup earlier in the day and also the cruise down the river Rhine which was specified in the itinerary did not materialise. It would have been a wonderful experience to have a ride in a boat down the river.
We went back to our rooms to rest soon and were eagerly awaiting to go to our next destination, Amsterdam!
