Hi Guys,
unfortunatly we seem to be experiencing a few problems uploading the photos from this computer. Hopefully we will find another soon as we have loads of great pictures to add.
The scuba diving course went well... well, Mike completed his Open Water PADI course. Amy got scared, and chickened out. She can finish it on one of the other islands that we go to or can wait til Australia. At the moment though, she is a qualified scuba diver :) Two of our dives were just off Ko Tao, which is where the guy/woman who WROTE The Beach got their inspiration. The book was set here - and it really is beautiful. Got land pictures but no underwater one's yet.
Our last place was so beautiful we stayed an extra few nights, and then went to the famous Full Moon Party on a beach on Koh Phagnan. We bought tickets for a speed boat taxi to and from the neighbouring island. The first return time was 3am, then every hour until 7am. We had a bus picking us up from our beach hut at 6.30 the next morning, to transfer us to Krabi. The plan was to get on the first boat back. The first boat didn't arrive until 6am, and sat there until nearly 7. Needless to say, after sitting on a beach from 2.45 - 6 am, we were actually quite tired and quite infuriated. However, the guy at the huts speedily took us to the ferry to pick up the bus there. We slept the entire way across the country.
When we finally arrived (stress free after the dramatic start) we find that our next home is in the middle of a rainforest, surrounded by palm trees and fireflies (they are so cool!) and we are sharing our room with the local wildlife, mainly gecko's.
Neither of these two places of residence have had hot water, but when we get the photo's on you'll see that the beauty makes up for it!
We have 2 nights in the jungle here, then we are making our way over to the Phi Phi Islands (where The Beach was filmed). We hear the dive sites there are amazing.
Wherever we go, Thai girls take pictures of Amy - they were practically queuing up in Bangkok! It's really quite amusing. (I don't mind the photo's, it's the staring that annoys me)
Anyway, we'll try tomorrow to upload the photos as we are going into the tiny little town of wherever it is we are staying...
Miss you all, love Amy and Mike x
