After the expectedly eclectic breakfast we re-packed our bags for the fourth morning in a row and awaited the arrival of the vehicle which was going to carry us the 130km down the untraveled East Coast of Lake Tangynika to the fishing village of Lagosa. We had company for our early start as the pre-dawn call to prayer was broadcast proudly from the next door mosque for Ramadan at 520am. After a plate of fresh fruit we piled into the diminutive taxi and scraped our way downhill through the obstacle course of ruts. The 315 start was hideous but soon we were crammed, with our bags, into a taxi, driven by one of the hotel's chefs, in his stained whites, and heading out of town for the Nyngezi bus station. Station was an overstatement, carpark would have been more appropriate, and which ever bright spark decided to locate the public transport hub 20km outside the city centre was obviously also the brains behind the rest of Tanzanias inefficient public transport network. Finally a quiet day and the real true Father's Day. We relaxed by the pool, communicated extensively with the outside world and for old times sake waited an inordinately long time for lunch.
