We all slept surprisingly well, packed in like muttony sardines until the youngest nappyless child decreed that it was time to get up. The felt of the ger ensured that none of the human alarm clock's wailing was lost and after half an hour Mum upped and exited the ger leaving the screaming fungus laiden child to its misery.
After a few choice words from a semi-comatose Victor, silence returned and we managed another half hour in our sleeping bags before the parents returned to stoke the fire of dried faeces.
Fortunately devil-child continued sleeping whilst we demolished a breakfast of pancakes, finishing the last pot of chocolate spread. Soon the tiny dynamo was up and running and after Emilie placated it with hot chocolate made from washing out the Nutella pot it was bouncing on the roof again with a ring of chocolate encompassing its nose and both cheeks.
Leaving the playing cards and a lolly for a delayed, e-number fuelled mania after our departure we headed down the valley and back onto the mostly smooth tarmac heading back to UB. We passed a long confused sand dune in the middle of an otherwise green valley and with a horn that now feebly croaked rather than blared Eegii resorted to shouting at the variety of mammals which chose to cross the road in front of us.
We eventually rolled back into UB and tumbled gratefully into the hostel and our double bedded room. It was sad to say farewell to Victor and Eegii but they could head out on a new trip at any point so headed back to spend time with their families and Eegii seriously needed to service his faithful truck.
We took the guys to the restaurant we had visited before leaving UB and revelled in the variety of food available. Pizzas, burgers and steaks all slipped down a treat and we returned to the hostel very full indeed. The soft mattress was such a welcome change and we both fell asleep immediately, not having to decide who was going to fling the last load of fuel on the stove for the first time in nearly 2 weeks.
