Santiago

We flew into Santiago on Sunday, and went from 12 hours ahead to 4 hours behind. It was Sunday for sooooooo long. We arrived in to the airport to find that our credit card had been blocked and we had no means of payment to get a taxi to the hostel or to use a phone. Luckily Kla managed to get some money out with another card and we eventually got to 'Hostel Sammy.' The taxi driver knocked on a random persons door and tried to take us in thinking it was the hostel!! It was actually about 20 doors up.

There isn't too much to do in Santiago, its expensive and just a big city. It was really hot, so we enjoyed the sun and caught up on sleep. We had a look around the city centre, there were loads of police everywhere and a few department stores. We arranged our trip 6 hours north of Santigago to La Serena. We stayed at 'Hostel Sammy' for 3 nights before we left.

We struggled with the Language because no one speaks much English here, they have no reason to learn it. Kla tried to buy us two ice creams but ended up with one huge one with two scoops, it was also vanilla, not chocolate or strawberry as she had requested!!!!
