Got up at 7:00 today and went for breakfast at our hotel... Dry bread with butter and jam! :(
The bus picked us all up at 8:30 and we drove back to the dock! Then took the boat back to Halong city! Took lots of photos of the lush scenery in the few hours we had and we were told we'd not paid for our bus back to Hanoi! We thought it was included but apparently not! Only cost £4.50 though!
When we arrived in Halong City, we had 45 minutes to have lunch, the tour guide came with us to BMC restaraunt so he could use my iPhone charger! We then got him to ring and reserve us a room In Hanoi Titanic Hotel in return ;) we had the nicest spicy fried rice ever! It was actually full of flavour and filling!
When he first used Annie's charger it wouldn't work yet mine would, it's because Annie bought hers in Asia, the plug is authentic but the wire is a cheap copy! You can tell the difference on my original one now, so remind me never to buy electricals from here :/
We got back on our bus, the guide saved us seats at the front so we could sleep, the back is hot and very bumpy! We then arrived back home in Hanoi at 4:45pm! plenty of time to get ready and meet Toni and Lee for dinner tonight! :D
We got room 01 this time right as you walk in, no more walking up four flights of stairs! We got ready and left! Don't even know where our taxi took us too, Lee just sent me the address to 'Highway 4'! Great, a restaurant up four floors of stairs just when we've escaped one set!
We ate with John and Matt, two holiday makers who were here for a fortnight and Mao was there too :) we got another's banquet feast of random things to eat! My tummy is in for a treat with all this new food!
I ate pigeon! It was okay but surprisingly a little salty? I don't know how! John ate its head, and brain! I couldn't do it, its little eyeballs were looking up at him! How weird that in England, pigeon is peasant food for jipp-oggs and here it's some kind of delicacy? :/
Then, I tried crocodile! Crocodile is beaut! It's the same texture as pork but not quite as dry and more flavourful, not salty! So glad I tried it as I would order it again, I kept going back for more! Annie even tried little bits of both too! She's so good! A vegetarian her whole life and now she's a meat shredding carnivorous beast!
After that I tried a tiny smidgen of Beef, with vegetables wrapped in rice paper, dipped in fish sauce! The sauce is the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted but without it it was dry! And beef just doesn't taste very nice it's chewy and it smells! Also rice paper tastes like plastic! So never again for that one but crocodile, anyday! :)
We also devoured two tiger beers each, check me and annie handling our lager ;) Only coz its cheap! And we all had four different flavoured whiskey shots between us, they were, passion fruit, apple, plum and god knows what other one, they didn't taste remotely as nice as they sound! They were vile, but when your dining with Asians that are ordering everything for you in Vietnamese, you don't get much choice! Slightly drink now to say the least, remember when I last drank whiskey?? :/
After our meal we went to rooftop bar
And stayed there a few hours! The music was great, me and Annie were drunk so started dancing like idiots infront of a view of the whole city! Maybe the elevator caused some kind of chemical reaction to make us act this way? Or maybe were just crazy! Annie started dancing ontop of chairs in this, classy, modern and supposed to be civilised, bar! Not when we're in town!
Toni introduced us to an American guy called James, who he tried to set up with Annie! He warned us that he wasn't exactly good looking and that he was shy! Oh boy! Understatement of the century! Let's just say he wasn't exactly to Annie's to taste!
When it started to get empty (in other words when we started to run out of money) we went to Solace bar! For more dancing with random crazy people, on a boat! Circles on the dance floor and cheering everyone on in the centre as standard. Almost falling off of the walkway to the entrance and into the 9mtre deep river, standard. And slut dropping the night away on a boat with the most random group of people that we don't even know... Standard.
