Just to let yous know where i am and what im planning on doing, and roughly where i will be.

I am in Semey in kazakhstan near the border. Had a great time last night, met some locals ended up being interviewed and got on local TV and radio The presence of a bunch of australians was announced! There was a whole group and a photographer and after theyd checked me into a hotel took us out to dinner, and insisted on paying. People here are fantastic!

I am travelling solo now, the others are heading south to almaty and i will hed towards astana. Will be taking the southern route dad if i can find it. From Astana i think i will head NW towards the russian border and back in there. Plans may change but just so you have an idea of where i will be heading. I might try and register with the Kazakh embassy of foriegners or whatever its called in astana if i get around to it, ie probably will forget!
