Its hard to appreciate that indeed this is a Castle, looks very forsaken too.

Excellent - on the edge of the loch with a small, arched stone bridge to cross to its little island. I think maybe there is scaffolding on it, maybe doing repair work. This photo made me rush to the photo albums because I thought maybe we had in fact seen it during our travels (though I didn't recall the bridge). However, I find that it was in Ireland that we saw a similarly castle in a similar setting! I did realise that as I recalled what else we saw nearby. It is Dunguaire Castle near Kinvara, round Galway and The Burren. At the time (2003) there were occasional feasts held there. Sadly we didn't time it right.
