Janet McIntyre A yes, definitely a triumphal arch. Apparently built by Napoleon for the troops to march through on their triumphant return from war. Hmmm... ( I overheard that when sorting bookshelves in the library at school during a French lesson on Napoleon).

Mum/Marion A very stricking Arch ! Again, referring to my visit many years ago, we were very disappointed to find it covered in scafolding at the time, so nice to see it in pristene condition now.
