I'm writing this on Tuesday, having decided to take a day down town - but I'll go back to Monday - albeit briefly - to fill in the gaps.
Jerry picked me up as usual on Monday morning, and we headed for BC. I settled straight down in the Resource Centre. I was setting out to read the whole manuscript of Jerry's book, because he asked for feedback. This is something I undertook with some trepidation. It's like making a few suggestions to Moses on the Commandments! Anyway, that took up most of the day. Came back to the B and B on the T (Transit system). Very impressive and efficient. I have never been in a train that isn't comfortably full but not overcrowded. Not like Sydney trains!
I bought some fresh sushi and spent the evening writing up my feedback for Jerry, then did a bit of planning for some of my own writing.
Tuesday morning was another tribute to the efficiency of the T. From coming down for breakfast until I got off the train in Boston took exactly an hour. Again the train wasn't crowded - (repeated again on the return trip - and only 2 bucks. I'm a fan).
I had booked my Bike tour with Urban Adventours online on Monday . Arrived at 0930 to get my helmet and bike, then went for a little spin and met Annie our guide in the park opposite. She took us on a 3 hour ride around the harbour, the Charles River, the North End, Beacon Hill, Boston Common, the Fenway (and by Fenway Park - the Red Sox stadium) and back into town. Not as rich in commentary as the walking tour, but a great ride on a lovely sunny day. The cookies in the picture were on sale at the Farmers Market we passed on the way at Copley Square - near the Library and Trinity Church - and the finish of the Boston Marathon.
We got back around 1, and I decided to forego the tourist traps at the Quincy Markets and walked instead into Little Italy to a place I had read about in Lonely Planet - Osteria Rustico (check it out ). The whole little Italy area is more like Haberfield but on the same scale as Leichhradt - with lots of old Italians sitting around on the streets and chatting, and plenty of Italian stores. I even bought a Dabolik comic! (If you don't know who he is the check out this site )
I wandered through the streets, visiting the Old North Church, where the meetings were held that gave rise to the Boston Tea Party - the only Tea party I'm getting excited about! (Blogging interrupted here to Skype with Beth - great to hear from her. This technology has certainly changed travel.)
I had been given a free ticket to the Museum of Fine Arts, so I decided i would walk. This may not have been the smartest decision I made all day, but I wanted to take in the sights on the way as I re-covered on foot some of the territory we had ridden earlier. It was FAR! I had about an hour in the museum, which I devoted to the American galleries. Some fantastic paintings of George Washington, including the image used on the currency.
I found my way back to Fenway T station and staggered back to Columbus street - absolutley knackered, but a great day. As I write this the Red Sox and the Blue Jays are "all tied up" at 3 apiece.
Tomorrow will be my last day at BC, with a public lecture to give. Brace yourself for the report tomorrow.

Marthese Those cookies made me hungry - and the rest of the description made we want to get to Boston ASAP - I'd love to immerse myself in that kind of history!
Roberto Are the pizza's in 'Haberfield cum Leichhardt' better than ours? Are the cookies better than Sulfaro or Tamburino? Nah. Any trains are better than Sydney's.
Jane Good luck with the lecture....So tell me was Moses book up to the 10 commandments
