Greetings from LAX. We landed pretty much on time after an uneventful flight. I passed the time watching a series called The Knick, out of the HBO stable. Not in the top flight - if you'll pardon the pun - but a good watch, and a little strong with scenes of surgery in early 20th century New York, and some telling scenes which address racism and attitudes to women as well as the incredible belief in the power of science that was so much a part of that time.
I have now mastered the 2 passport routine for the US. Check in at airline w Canadian as sport, use Aussie passport at Customs and Immigration in Australia, then use Canadian to arrive in U.S. And for internal flights. There is now an extra step in the US for US and Canadian passports where an automated scanner does a first check. Not sure what the benefit is.
I had a 10 minute walk from Tom Bradley terminal B to Terminal 6. Very easy as I didn't have to collect any luggage and I had only the one bag to carry. Using my 30 day Admiral's Lounge pass I was able to access the Alaskan Board room for wifi and refreshments. Boarding in a couple of hours.
