Hi all we seem to have vanished of the earth for a short while, but that was because we were temporarily more importantly engaged in a diving course for 4 days in a row somewhere in the sticks of Koh Tao (which is a beautiful paradise like island with loads of diving schools).
Yesterday we both obtained our Open Water PADI certificate which allows us to go diving almost anywhere in the world up to depths of 18 meter! Esp. for Rose this is a major achievement as she is not particularly the water / swimming type.
On thursday we have to leave this lovely island (it's too expensive and our travel budget burn rate is alarming) and go back to the mainland to continue our adventures in the North of Thailand (Chiang Mai) which we will reach via train and plane with a short stop in Bangkok.
We plan to spend our X-mas and New Year in the North of Thailand and continue our trip in Laos at the start of 2009.
In case we don't speak to you back at home have a merry X-mas and happy New Year and all the best for 2009. We are looking forward to all of your blog postings and emails as we do appreciate all of your funny messages and blogging feedback.
Cheers,
Mies and Rose
p.s. and yes Nanssi you are allowed to send txt-msgs but we are unlikely to answer as we have to become cheap b******s
p.p.s. Sandra: the t-shirt you liked was purchased at a concert of a NYHC band 'Merauder' in London - maybe you can score it on the net somewhere
p.p.p.s. Better late than never: a special thanx to the following folks:
- Terje: for the A&F t-shirt
- Louise, John, Diane & Trevor: for the hot water bottle, lip stuff, injury drugs and unforgetable birthday breakfast in Nepal
- The Australian guy (sorry haven't got a name): for the knee bandage
- Andre: for the excellent diving lessons
