Finally
A new Blog entry after having uploaded a gazillion pictures in the past few weeks. Radio silence had been forced upon us by loads of travelling by bus and too many activities which required too much time doing stuff instead of sitting behind a screen.
Anyway since last time we blogged we have been through a number of countries and a number of unforgettable experiences:
- a 3 day tour from San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) to Uyuni (Bolivia): together with 4 other gringos we travelled in a jeep through the Andes, desert, volcanic surroundings and the salt lakes. Bloody freezing cold at night, but worth the pain as nature was incredibly beautiful. And of course the rest of the crew who were really cool: Asia & Sebastian, Sevrine and Jonas - 3 photo albums dedicated to this adventure comprising way too many pictures, but the excuse is that those are there for our fellow travellers, aka the Jeep Crew.
- our stay in Sucre where we did a week of Spanish lessons and also stayed at the wonderful Intituto Cultural Boliviano Aleman: www.icba-sucre.edu.bo . Our teacher Jorge was a nice bloke who happened to like heavy metal and motorbikes (who else do I know with those kinds of interests?). Our host Gerd from Germany was also a very amicable person: one photo album and some in the comments one!
- mountain biking near La Paz with Gravity Bolivia (www.gravitybolivia.com). We went on the Chacaltaya Zongo trip where you are being brought to 5300m above sea level and will descend on a MTB in a 6 hour bike ride to 900m. Just awesome (one dedicated photo album).
- Oh yeah and all the nice cities and places we visited between Argentina and Peru: Cordoba, Salta, San Pedro, Potosi, Sucre, La Paz and the Andes (various photo albums).
Also still some New Zealand leftovers as it happens to be Micha´s favorite country: vulcanic Wai O Tapu was just amazingly photogenic.
We are currently in Trujillo (Peru) and are leaving tonight on an 17-18 hour bus trip to Ecuador: we are really looking forward to this marathon bus journey (NOT).
We still owe you loads more pictures (from Lake Titicaca, Lima, Cusco, Lares and Machu Picchu) but again we are not allowed to install the photo uploaders down here (comments censored!).
Hope to be blogging soon whilst you all can browse through all the recently uploaded pictures for the upcoming weeks.
Laters!
