Arrived in Alice on Sunday, after an over night bus journey from Katherine! I have just got back from a 3 day camping tour to Kings Canon and Ayres Rock. It was proper camping, in swag bags underneath the stars and by a camp fire. I haven't had a wash for 3 days, but had a great time. We walked around Kings Canon were told about the Aborginal Stories and tradtions. We also watched the sunset and the sunrise on Ayres Rock. The rock changes colour, and is really beauitful to watch! We also had the option of either climbing the rock or walking around it, i opted not to climb it (as the Aborginals ask tourists not too as it is a sacred site for them) and i walked the 9.4k around swatting the millions of flies that were constantly buzzing around me. Have eaten Kangaroo curry twice since i got to Alice. Is really nice and tastes alot like beef. Apparently it has no fat in it! Am off out tonight with the group i went camping with and head to Cairns tomorrow afternoon and get there early hours of Saturday monring!! What a trip eh!
