Ok so that's me home and all unpacked. All the fridge magnets are around and about, I think we've a couple we cant find, but am sure they will pop up at some point. Monica also has unpacked, she had a big huge bag so a bit more to do than I did.
Final thoughts and thanks time I reckon.
So many memories from the trip, it really has been wonderful to visit so many places, experience so many cultures and places, good and bad. The Mozart Concert will of course remain with me forever, it's setting and the ambiance took me apart to be honest in a certain way. But then so did my nice guide in Prague. So did Austria as a country not just Vienna, but the whole Austria thing - I loved Austria in a major way.
Bratislava didn't start well, but it ended up my favourite place (notwithstanding Budapest of course and being with Monica). The Slovaks are lovely, kind and friendly (taxi drivers aside), I loved sitting on the banks of the Danube in the sunshine, I loved the bike ride and even at the very end, I loved the bus to take me to Hungary.
Budapest obviously is a highlight, not just because of Monica and the whole 1:30 Burger King thing, but the city itself is beautiful and so so pretty. Some of the sights in Budapest were stunning.
Of course there is Monica, the whole purpose of the trip and that was a highlight I cannot put into words. To spend months dreaming about holding her hand and walking the banks of the Danube at night, with the sights of Budapest fully lit in the background, and then to actually manage to do it is something that will live with me forever.
I've loved my trip, I've so many people to thank, hotel receptionists, bus drivers, tour guides, the guy that helped me on the metro in Vienna, the barman in the Irish Pub in Prague, the waiter in Bratislava - so so many people.
To close off the blog, lets just say that they all know who they are and I made sure they knew I was grateful
