And what a welcome back it is as well !
The flight was fine and no issues at all. 3 lady stewardesses, none of them really going to win Miss Wizz Air 2014 to be honest, but it was better than 4 bloke stewards on Easyjet on the way out. No hen party's, no stag party's.
Collect bags, and head off out of the terminal to the bus stop taking us back to the car park. We meet the most miserable bunch of people ever ! Our driver is Mr 'Elf and Safety mate and lets it known to everyone on the bus, its his bus, and there are rules and you lot (that's us passengers) MUST obey the rules. Ok, so what does that mean exactly ?
Well, poor chap sat near front, long flight maybe, just wants to get his bag on the bus (which he managed) and sit down, get his car back, stick Radio 4 on and get home. Only Mr 'Elf and Safety mate is having none of it. "Whose bag is that ?" he shouts. "It's mine," says tired man. Back comes Mr 'Elf and Safety mate, "Ah, then you need to move it mate, cant sit there, you need to move it mate. I'm not moving it, I'm only a driver and I'm not allowed to move it. You need to move it."
Bag duly moved (less then 3 feet to be honest), our hero sits back down "There, happy ?" he mutters loud enough for everyone to hear. Mr 'Elf and Safety mate is happy, he lets people know he is happy the bag is moved and he didnt move it, cos he's not allowed to and that's because of …....
Oh but wait, the bus is nearly full. Mr 'Elf and Safety mate is ready to rock and roll for what will be his last drive of the night (he let his colleague know, but in so doing so, let everyone know). A party of 10 have been split up, some have their bags on the bus, some dont - we cant have that can we ! But here comes Mr 'Elf and Safety to the rescue. "Oh I shouldn't really, but if you move that bag and I move this one" (err hold on, thought he wasnt allowed to move bags !) "and then you move there and he moves there and we all move this and …...." (you get the drift), "then I might just be able to ….."
What a carry on, what a drama out of nothing. Made me think of how I was feeling the first 30 mins after arriving in each country I'd been to. Prague was lovely and friendly, Austria greeted me with a beautiful sunset and a sparkling clean metro station, Bratislava - ok not so clever but they made up for it, Hungary both Gyor and Budapest were delightful.
It can only be England, it can only be England !
