Who would have realised that Dover was so far away. It's a totally different experience being a passenger in an old car. Motorways are definitely out of the question which makes Dover a 7 hour journey from Binfield. But it made me appreciate the English countryside (well I did see lots of it!) as we passed through Berkshire, Surrey, Sussex and Kent on our way to the ferry. Luckily a whole day was set aside for the trip so we had time to enjoy a leisurely lunch ...

And so the adventures begin............. Today we set off on the first part of our journey to Belgium in a 64 year old Rover. Built in 1949, this Rover is a P4 Cyclops which is apparently also known as a model 75 due to its engine size. Very exciting for the chaps as it was the third of its type off the production line - and the others no longer exist. That's as technical as I can get and thanks to my husband for that information.
