Hello All, We have been in Thailand for 2 weeks now and it couldn't have gone quicker! It is another world here, the people are lovely, very busy and so colourful. We arrived late at night on the 16th and it was very hot even at that time. We took the taxi journey into Bangkok centre to our Hotel. We were staying just off Koh San Rd, so prime location. Our hotel wasn't really the 5* we were expecting, but staying in our own room with a telly was luxury compared to the last 5 months!!!!! We took the next day to recover from our flights, thank god for the Air con, I don't think we could have slept otherwise! We then explored Koh San Rd, and it was amazing. We had to walk up and down it a couple of times just to take it all in, there were stalls everywhere ans packed with people. We sampled the good from the stalls and it was really nice and only cost me 30p!!!!! The next day we wanted to go and see a few of the sites so took a walk and ended up getting completly lost. A lovely Thai man helped us and suggested we get in a tuk tuk to see some sites he had written down. We had the tuk tuk driver for the day for 10p and visited some temples including the free standing Budda. We then were taken to the TAT office where we takled to an adviser about what we wanted to in Thailand, and we made plans for the 2 weeks Gem's sister Mel was out on holiday. We then went to a ........wait for it............. A Thai suit factory!!!!!! We had been scammed, but we went in tried to look interested and left 5 mins later. We only agreed to go as the drivers get tokens for taking you there and we couldn't say NO!!!! That evening we meet up with Alex and Jody who we meet in Cairns. It was so nice to see a freindly face in the crazy place. We told them about our days experience and they gladly informed us that we had been scammed, nit only by the driver but by the nice man who told us where to go........ me and Gem beleived him when he siad it was Buddist Day!!!!! he he We had a really good night and had the ledgendary buckets! We ended up in a club where we tried to haggle the price down for about 30 mins!!! It is all part of it out here. The next day and with most of us suffering from hangovers we decided it would be a good idea to go to China Town! Well no, it wasn't it was the hottest day so far, and the food stalls where full of fish and food I couldn't even tell you what it was! We managed to stumble apon the thieve Market, where you could buy anything you could ever want. Later that day Mel arrived. It was so no\ice to see her and straight away it felt like she had been with us all along! We took the 1hr bus journey back to the hotel whilst Gem and Mel did some much needed catching up. We thought it would be a good idea to go out and celebrate even though Mel was suffering from jet lag. We had a good night talkinf about what we have been up too, and what has been happening at home. We are now in Koh Samui and have spent 4 days in Koh Pang Yang where we have expereinced the Black Moon Party which was so very fun. We have 5 days here in a lovely resort with our own private cove. the next couple of days will be spent trying to catch the sun. Will update better, but need to get out in that sun shine!!!!!!!!!!!!
