Hi all, I am sorry I have disappeared but it has been a crazy 5 or 6 days, I lost count! Mendoza is the heart of Argentina's wine region, is in the middle of pretty mountains but other than that, there is not that much to say about it. It was destroyed by a massive earthquake, and the city was nearly totally rebuilt so it's a fairly modern looking town. My Bolivian tour ended in San Pedro, where I had to spend 3 days while waiting for my flight to Santiago.
