I am not sure where to start really, since I have left La Paz to reach Uyuni and start a 3 days trip through the desert I have been in a total state of amazement.
I reached a pretty ugly city called Oruro where I boarded the Expreso del Sur, a train that takes you to the town of Uyuni where you start the tour.
The 6 hours train ride was in itself an experience, the scenery was amazing so I spent about 6 hours staring out of the window. (Also because the old man next to me stank really bad and kept on talking to me!!)
Once in Uyuni I picked an agency for the tour and the next morning I was off with other 5 lovely people and the guide, in a 4WD.
The tour lasts 3 days and takes you from Uyuni to the border with Chile, my plan was to finish the tour and go to San Pedro de Atacama, where I am writing from now.
During the past 3 days I have seen landscape that I could only dream about, it's really hard to explain the beauty to be honest, everything it's just exaggerated, the sky is the bluest I have seen, the brightness of the salt is blinding, the vastitude of the desert is limitless and then there are the llamas, the vicunas, the flamingoes, the pitch black nights and the milky way.
I have taken about 600 pictures in 3 days, it's hard not to, but I have only posted few here to give you an vague idea of what I have experienced.
This small tour is the most amazing thing I have done since I have started to travel, I would go back anytime to do it again, and I am sure I will.
Bolivia overall has been amazing, most of the cities and towns have little to offer in terms of beauty but the landscape makes up for it big time.
Next stop: San Pedro de Atacama.
