Hanging out in Minneapolis still I've been bitten by the travel bug again. It's all I can think about these days and I read blog after blog about road trips down the Pan-American highway. Nothing is stopping me from leaving "real life" for the long term (4+ months) trip of my dreams except fears and expectations. This makes it all the more frustrating and every day I just want to get up and go!
Our next trip is planned from March 2012 and is to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Being down there it is so tempting just to say screw it to our two week time frame (which seems WAY too short) and just stay and roam around the continent, making our way overland.
However, we are planning on moving to Denver, Colorado around the time of our trip and have yet to find "real" jobs after graduating from college so responsibility keeps kicking in and telling me no.
Of course this also seems like the perfect time to just go: no school, no work, not tied to one location. Why not?
Also, our friend Nick is planning on making the move with us as well as joining us on our Central American adventure. I'm looking forward to getting a new video camera at Christmas to record our adventures for posterity and hoping Nick will help me with an epic travel blog!
Since my last post we have taken a couple shorter trips: one to Stillwater, MN for a romantic one night B&B getaway and another to Denver to scope out apartments. Stillwater was fun because we got to eat at some cool local restaurants and played board games by a fireplace in a beautiful Victorian mansion.
Denver had some horrible weather but a trip to the aquarium, apartment hunting, and exploring downtown made it all worth it! At first it seemed to make the idea of moving more tangible and thus more stressful, but we came away with excitement of what will most likely be our new home.
