Janey: hey hey hey hey!
Hello from Stockholm. We are staying on this most beautiful tall ship called Af Chapman that is on one of the central islands overlooking gamla stan, the old town. When we first got to stockholm on friday we were navigating our way through the streets, and as we got to the harbour, we were met with this beautifully lit up ship in the distance. absolutely gorgeus in the main harbour surrounded by all the beautiful buildings... and its our hostel!
that pretty much sums up our trip to stockholm really. its been great through and through. Yesterday we went on a sightseeing boatrip through stockholm past all the beautiful buildings and the national park and to the first few archipelago islands. it was -6 though and we were p.r.o.p.e.r. cold. we were huddled under layers of blankets and sat on reindeer skins but we still nearly lost our extremities. we warmed up after with the best hot chocolate in a little dungeon cafe in the old town and spent the rest of the day perusing the shops and sights of sodermalm - one of the more hip islands and where all the nice boutiques are... nothing to fit in our bags though and couldnt afford anything anyway.
last night we did lashy valentines day chinese - just the romantic three of us. then we partied into the night at a divey indie club under the railway - i was exhausted so sadly couldnt make the most of it. and meesh decided the swedes are the most violent dancers of them all and got thoroughly ticked off with their dodgy music choices.
today, thoroughly hungover, we have wandered the streets again with little inspiration and then spent the afternoon being typically sunday and lounging in bed - lanty playing us guitar... on his iphone... lullaby us to sleep!
we are just choosing where to spend the next couple of days before we move on to norway... will keep you posted.
