Hi y'all!
We're in Asheville, North Carolina now. Not much to report from the last couple of days. We've pounded the miles on the interstate because the weather's been a bit rubbish - it seems those tropical storms and hurricances on the coast a causing a bit of wet weather up here!
We've now finally started heading west having spent the last week heading south
We're hoping to get into the Smoky Mountains today - it's about 50 or so miles from here and we're going to have a look round asheville first
We have seem some lovely small towns on route though - we'll share the photos and video once we can get to a computer that we can transfer them from the camera! Maybe Australia so bear with us!
The one exciting thing that did happen was being pulled over by a State Trooper yesterday. Apparently if you see an emergency vehicle on the hard shoulder you're supposed to move into the fast lane and I didn't because I didn't know. He very reasonably let me off because in his words "I'm not even from this country, how could I be expected to know the rules in that state?" Tell me the same would happen in the UK!? OK, maybe in the North!!! :O)
On the North, thanks Ant and Siobhan for "Pies & Prejudice" - a book about the north of England - I'm reading it as we travel and it's a brilliant read!
See y'all on the other side of the Smoky Mountains - we'll be in Pidgeon Forge, home of Dollywood!
