Well, today is our last day in Cambodia. Only 3 days of the trip left!!

We started off in Siem Reap, arriving there on Thurday afternoon. Immediately what hit us was the heat and humidity. As we were trying to find our way out of the airport a tuk tuk driver stopped us and took us into town. We agreed for him to drive us around Angkor Wat the following day

That evening we were struck by how touristic Siem Reap is. There was a street opposite our hotel which was called Pub Street - suddenly we'd landed in Benidorm!!

The following day Mr Sambo (our Tuk Tuk driver) took us to the Angkor temples. They are truly amazing - the scale of them, especially considering they were built 900 years ago, is astounding. We spent thre whole day walking around looking at the temples - climbing up 70 degree angles and through jungle that made you feel like you were on the set of Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones

The following day (Saturday) we got the bus down to Phnom Penh. We were sat next to two novice monks. One of which was training to be a tour guide around Angkor Wat. We had a good chat to them and it was interesting to hear about the impact of the Pol Pot Regime on them and particularly their parents

Phonom Penh clearly has more money than anywhere else we've seen in Cambodia - it's quiite evident in the plaace and the temples around as well as trhe streets. Yesterday we went up to the Killing Fields - a chilling mass grave which has a monument of the skulls and clothing found when the graves were discovered. It's a very moving place

This afternoon we're going to S-21 the school which was converted into a prison during the Pol Pot regime. It promises to be a cheery afternoon!

Tomorrow we fly to Singapore - our final stop - for two days of relative luxury. And hopefully to buy a laptop!!
