The last week went so quick, it's scary!
I finally got taken to " the German town" Hahdorf last weekend. It's a very pretty little village, which was founded in 1839 a a Hufendorf village by Lutheran families.
What is left these days is some Bavarian pubs, which sell "real German" food, oh yes....some sausage and schnitzel and of course Prezel ( love the spelling, why can they not at least spell it right, if they want to sell German food? )
Everybody told me about Hahndorf, since we come to Australia, so I am glad I finally went and had some real German food:)
On the outskirts are some big strawberry fields, so we went with the kids to picked some, to then make some amazing " Jamie Oliver fruit Cobbler". The kids unfortunately, didn't see any of that :( what a shame.....
The week started with a trip into Adelaide city and a visit to Gerald, a family cousin, who repaired my ring and confirmed stone and silver all real and is worth at least 3x as much, to what i paid in Sri Lanka - so finally it seamed one time i didn't get ripped off there. Very happy, made my day!
Few more great runs on the beach and a hard run up "Mount Llofty" in 58 mins. Woohoo.amazing views up there and well deserved pancakes after.
We even went back to our favorite place, Bikram Yoga. And we both made it though the whole class.
Then we had a pleasant visit from " virus Gastro..."
Starting with Lucas, who puked in his bed all night, followed by bad diarrhea. Poor boy didn't eat properly all week. Very unusual as he is always HUUUNGREEEEY MUMMEY.
By friday it had hit Amie, who we picked up for School. She puked in a bucked a few times.
At the same time the Guinea pigs needed a visit to the Vet.
All started with Talula scratching herself badly, her whole side was already raw. We checked online and it was clear straight away. MITES. Disgusting. Immediately we felt itchy as well. Poor pig.
Vet gave us drops for both pigs, so they will be fine in a few month, puuuuh.
For the weekend we had planned to see some friends, who live on a farm and have horses and dogs. But they had the Gastro infection as well.
Plan B: renting a house on the beach in Middelton and go surfing. Perfect.
So we packed the car and the sick, puking kids with a big bucked between them and off we went.
Unfortunately Gastro hit Andre That day. So instead of coming to the beach with us, he stayed in bed and puked.
The weather was absolutely fantastic on Saturday. 35 degrees, blue sky, can't get better for a surf session.
Andre joined us Saturday, so Nat and I went for runs along the amZi g beach and a surf on Sunday.
Today, we had no sun, was quiet chilly, water freezing cold, wind crazy, waves from all directions and the sea bottom covered in crabs, which bit us in our feet every now and then.
But even all that and the fact you often have to wait for ages to get that ONE wave...... the feeling, when you stand up and you ride that wave until the end (and you even manage to turn the board ) is so worth it and gets you so addicted, that you do it again and again.
I am already so stiff from paddling and jumping on the board- lets see if I can move tomorrow....
My last week here starts tomorrow. I am shocked how quick time passes. 6 weeks with my fav sis in law and her family. Just fantastic. So much fun. Loved every minute, just a shame they live so bloody far away.
