Unfortunately, I haven't done nearly as much as I would have loved to do in Indonesia as I managed to get salmonella, tiphoyd fever and kidney infection all in one go.
I feel much better now, but it was no fun. Wendy has been wonderful by adjusting to my rythms even though she had only 3 weeks of holidays...Wendy will you ever forgive me???? She left this morning, bless her!
However, me managed to see Gilis Islands and a few places in Bali and we both loved Indonesia and its people (except from Kuta, which it truly horrid). It's a very well kept country with stunning landscapes.
We particualry loved Ubud - which is the Balinese cultural centre - with its lovely streets and green rice fields. We also went to Ubud Palace to see a dance performance. We were not sure about the dancing but the costumes were very pretty and colourful.
It's incredible how the Balinese dance with their eyes though!
I'll try and upload a few movies I took of the performance so that you can see what you think.
I'm going to leave Bali on 17th June to arrive 2 days later (ouch!) in Peru. Till then I'm resting by the beach hoping to get back in shape for South America...
