Today we did something that you must try at least once on any long trip. Laundry. Once we hung our clothes out to dry, we grabbed some ramen noodles from 7-11 because we wanted to get in touch with our asian side and then parked ourselves in front of the plama tv at our hostel and watched australian rugby. In the afternoon it became clear that we had overexerted ourselves for the day so we went and got a massage at a nearby hotel. Then we hopped a local bus for a ride down to Patong beach in Phuket. The streets were lined with huge hotels, fancy restaurants, starbucks, subways, honda dealerships, etc etc and suddenly we didn't feel like we were in a foreign country anymore. We Quickly left after dinner and went back to our quiet street to drink Chang beer and watch a few episodes of Friends with some girls from England. I'd like to thank Eric for pointing out that we fled a bunch of western chain businesses to come back to our hostel and watch Friends.
