Namaste
I think its fair to say that over the past couple of months we have become fairly world-weary and jaded travellers, where perhaps we dont appreciate new exciting things quite as much as we should, or get bored a little too easily. A new place quickly lost our interest and everything was, as the irritating SE Asia phrase goes 'same same'.
That has all changed. India is like an explosion of colour, smells, dust, and noise. We have only been here a couple of days but already I am in love with the place. First impressions are goooood.
The streets are filled with people, I mean literally FULL of people, from Big moustachioed men with bulging bellies standing in shop doorways, to tiny scrawny little men pulling carts laden with sacks surely the average weight-lifter would struggle with (think a tiny ant carrying ten times its weight on his back and you get the idea). Oh its all men by the way, maybe one person in fifty is female, or so it seems. Perhaps they are hiding from the intense energy sapping heat (the monsoon also appears to be hiding) of Delhi, or we dont notice them as we are too busy looking where we are going in order to not bump into a cow, rickshaw, or projectile red paan spit missile.
