We have just had the poshest meal at the most amazing luxurious golf club in the most ridiculously plush area of houses. Never fear - we didnt decide to blow all of our travel fund on fine dining and expensive hotels, but have been staying at Casa Hartley in Santa Rosa, an enormous house with swimming pool, hot tub, several acres of fruit trees and the biggest and most luxurious room we will stay in for our entire trip without a doubt! We were entertained at a very posh golf club with Brenda and her friends, it was a fun evening but in our scrunched up clothes and walking trainers we didnt really fit in with the clientele!

It has been a nice few days, just relaxing by the pool, visiting some Napa Valley vineyards and whineries, tasting some wines (always the most expensive ones offered to us) most were pretty good, our palates are now in much better shape - detecting hints of lemongrass and all that.

Tomorrow we are getting up at 5am and getting a series of buses and trains in order to get to Yosemite National park by mid afternoon, where we will hopefully find somewhere to camp. Its going to be interesting to see what our thirty dollar tent feels like in high altitude and freezing nightime temperatures, especially compared to the hot tub and king size bed we are now accustomed to!
