February 23rd:
So 8 hours in the airport and a 10 hour flight and we arrive in LA about 8 hours before the plane had even taken off in Fiji. Now whoever said time travel wasn't possible lied, the only problem with it is that it is bloody tiring. We headed straight for a hotel so we could have a decent night sleep. So we jumped on a shuttle to the nearest Comfort Inn. It turned out to be in Inglewood - not the greatest part of town but we were just glad for a bed. We literally chilled out, watched some american tv (which has adverts on every 10 seconds) and ordered a dominos Pizza online staright to our Hotel room now this is the american life.
We also had a lovely phone call from the manager in Fiji, after checking our emails we have had a few nasty ones from them and it turns out they have charged us for the whole week of us staying there, despite the fact that we are not there. After several nasty emails we get a phone call from the manager Joe. Basically for some reason i don't think his staff told him that we even arrived so as fas as he was concerned we hadn't cancelled. Once we explained to him what actually happened he started apologising and says he is going to refund the money. I am still majorly annoyed that they have already charged my credit card before even speaking to us. This resort is seriously a joke - do not stay there.

After very little sleep (now i know what jetlag is) we got a taxi to Hollywood blvd and checked into a hostel jsut round the corner. It was slightly cheaper than the hotel, we had a lovely room and were a 2 minute walk from Hollywood Blvd. In America though it seems the hostels are nearly the same price as a hotel. We headed straight out to 'walk of fame' to see all of the stars. It is not what you expect but pretty cool all the same. We wandered around the chinese theatre and saw all the look alikes. We then booked on to star tour to see all of the sights. The tour was really good, we saw the hollywood sign, Bel-air, Rodeo Drive,Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills and about 40 celebs mansions inluding David Beckam, Steven Spielberg, Michael Jackson and loads of others. It was really cool as you recognise loads of stuff from the films and the commentator tells you all about the history of Hollywood and
We really enjoyed the tour, afterwards we carrried on walking down the walk of fame and grabbed some lunch. We were so sleepy by the time we got back so we chilled out and had an early one. We met a nice couple from England called Rick and Sharron while we were checking out hotels in Vegas on the internet.
February 25th:
Today we tested out the American Public Transport system, so we got the bus and headed to the Farmers Market and The Grove. The Farmers market is really cool it has every type of international cuisine you can imagine. We then headed to the Grove which is a really nice shopping area, it was really pretty and we headed to the Cheese cake factory for lunch. The size of the food was absolutely insane i left over half of mine and i can eat loads. Matt managed to eat all of his giant burger even though he could barely move after. In the afternoon we headed back to the hostel. Rick and Sharron were there and told us they were off to the House of Blues as it was Ricks birthday and invited us along. It turned out that Eric a guy that worked at the hostel also worked at the House of Blues as security so he managed to get us in for free. It turned out to be such an awesome night, Eric came with us and gave us a VIP tour showing us where all the celebs hang out and about how Dan Akroyd ( who owns the place) did it up. After a few beers, we headed downstairs to watch the live bands, Eric managed to get us into this for free and got us VIP seats right at the front. After several giant cans of Fosters (they were bigger than my head) meeting the bands and having a good time it was back to the hostel for some sleep.

Today we all woke up feeling a little bit worse for wear, we are no longer accustomed to nights out so it hits you hard. This probably wasn't the best day to go to Universal studios. All four of us headed down there, the first ride was the new simpsons one. Its basically a giant simulator - not the greates thing when you are rather hungover. Universal Studios was good, but it only actually had about 3 rides in it, none of which were that great. We did manage to do the studio tour for free though and all of the film stuff was goood. We really wanted to go to Six Flags which is the one with all of the roller coasters but because it is winter they are only open on the weekend. Universal was alright though, i think once is enough though. I definitely want to go to Florida and do all of the theme parks there. In the evening we headed to the Greyhound to book our tickets to Vegas - Yay! We leave at 11:25 in the morning. Matt is super excited, it is quite funny. We then booked our hotels for Vegas on the internet. For anyone else that is going it is super cheap in the week, you can get really nice rooms in really nice hotels for like $30 a night. Where as on the weekend it triples or doubles in some hotels. Plus we have chosen the Nas Car weekend which hasn't helped. So we have booked 3 nights in a cheap one and one night in a it of a posh one as a treat! Can't wait.
