This morning is cooler and less humid than yesterday. Ali uses the site laundry to catch up on our washing. While we're waiting we plan some routes and places for the next few days. It's lovely to have a morning doing not very much.
At midday we go up to the site access road, which is smooth, flat tarmac, so Nick can have a good walk after a few too many days sitting around, then we go into the restaurant for lunch. Our second meal there is every bit as good as our first.
Afterwards we wander along the road beside the railway, in the opposite direction from Iseo towards Pilzone and Sulzano, which was our first stop on the boat trip yesterday. The road is reasonably busy but traffic is careful and not very fast. We detour down a narrow road to a small beach and the ANS yacht club. It reminds us of Mylor near home except for the olive trees. Across the water we can see Monte Isola and pick out features from our visit. On our return we sit on the lakeside with iced soft drinks watching small eels in the lake.
We planned to eat outside this evening but the forecast for rain turns out to be accurate and we move inside. As darkness falls at around 19:45, much earlier than at home as we are 15deg further east, bright flashes of lightening burst over the water and thunder rumbles and cracks all around. With rain hammering on all the vans and awnings and the air freshening, the storm rages on for nearly three hours, but the repair to our leaky roof holds out - good one Stuart.
