We have just arrived home today, as we had to leave the truck.
Jack was struggling with the heat, as we have been in over 40 degree heat for nearly four weeks, at times over 50 this has taken its toll, as she has lost a lot of weight.
We arrived at Agra and the town was the usual chaos, but even worse there were people defecating next to food sellers etc the smell of the open sewers is indescribable, how can they allow this to happen.
We decided to upgrade our room to air con, as it was so hot, but in the middle of the night I woke up feeling strange and sick, I turned the AC off but got a mouthful of the fumes and promptly was sick, I woke Jackie and we changed rooms, but we had a troubled night. In the morning the others went to the Taj Mahal, but we were too poorly from the fumes, so we stayed at the hotel and discussed what we should do, we decided that the best thing was to come home to recoup and consider our options. We can rejoin the trip later on if we wish. We have seen some amazing sites so far, but India, the heat and the uncomfortable truck has taken its toll on us. Then to cap it all we have this little incident. We are well in ourselves but as a precautionary measure wanted to be near safe medical help if needed. We have since spoken to a Dr who has given us the all clear.
