WOW! Yesterday we hired some mountains bikes and hit the trails! What a fantastic day it was! The mountain bikes were brand new with proper suspension and disc brakes! We took to the trail and off we went! The scenery was breathtaking, take a look at the pictures, I could hardly believe I was cycling through the Rocky Mountains! We managed 12 miles, and at 10,000 ft, I was surprised, needless to say, my legs are a little sore and a touch saddle sore....! Still, was definately one of those days that you look back on and think, YES, that's why I came on this trip! Check out the picture of Mike sitting down with 3 miles to go...!
At the moment we're in an Internet/Oxygen Cafe, where you can have oxygen masks for those suffering with mountain sickness, to be honest I think its a bit of a gimic, but we just saw a couple from Denver which is 5000 ft up come in and have some oxygen! They're obviously not made as tough as those in Shotton! From exteme Texan heat, to high altitude, to the Desert (next stop) we're getting tough!
We're heading to Flagstaff on Tuesday/Wednesday, another joyous 24 hour journey... there we will use Flagstaff as a base to see the Grand Canyon! It's going to be jaw dropping i'm sure!
See you in Arizona!
