November 6th-7th
Left Hoi An by private bus to Hue. we finally got to see the beach but did not stop at the famous China Beach which the Americans used as a retreat during the war. we traveled up Hai Va Pass, the rough narrow road snaked up the mountain offering fabulous vistas before dense fog engulfed the road before making it's decent down to Lang Co fishing village where we stopped for beverage and a walk to the beach. although the sun is not shining, the beach is still beautiful, there is a gentle ocean breeze and the waves gently roll to shore from the rough waters. Back on bus, it's raining, its been raining off and on. Our bus driver sucks, he is aggressive, honk honk and more honking as he try's to pass everyone and everything, at one point he cursed a guy fishing off the side of the road because he parked his bike slightly on the road and we had to slow down to give way to the larger bus coming the other way. needless to say, he did not get a big tip from me. It was welcome news to get get to Hue (pronounced "Way"). Our first lunch in Hue was east indian, and not the best at that, Megan and I shared a Thali, looking forward to some good Vietnamese food.
