Splints, Unwanted children and Russians....
Today was our last full day hiking, so we decided to go out in style! 20km upwards along the Aksu River. It was beautiful to see the cultural side of Kyrgyzstan. Horses roamed free across the landscape followed by foals of every colour. Cows and sheep were tended by local shepherd with dogs whilst on horse back. The people live in little huts in the land. The importance of livestock sunk in when we came across a sheep which had a rudimentary splint fashioned on its leg. Every animal is precious. The back drop hill were spectacular as we traversed even more so when the mist and rain soaked us passing through given the valley a beautiful sparkle.
Tien Shan has been amazing, we have had beautiful hosts, porters and guides and although a resemblance of normality in a hotel with running water and a bed with a roof overhead will be nice tomorrow, I will miss my time in this place.
