We survived Armenia without being bitten to death, we did the right thing getting a taxi to take us to a nice hotel - in fact we had a really good sleep.
First thing, we went across to a place serving breakfast, all we could find to eat yesterday was crisps. Liz tried a new strategy of avoiding meat, just say we don't like the taste of meat. They understood this reasoning and we settled down to scrambled eggs with vegetables without much fuss.
In a strange sort of way we enjoy the off the beaten path travelling interest. The people don't come into contact with tourists so seem to be more excited in making contact. I had an excellent coffee whilst watching horse and carts go past with weathered people that you normally see in National Geographic.
We are currently on the bus heading to Salento, Daffy Duck ahead and gorgeous scenery to my right.
Salento is another nice place, here they are into bright colours for the houses (and I mean bright, think bright orange and lurid green). Due to the delays we didn't waste much time checking out the view points, then found a nice place with views serving vegy soup and playing Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd seems to be big in Latin America going by the number of times I have heard it being played.
This took us up to the coffee plantation tour in the rain. It was good, cheap, informative and got us out walking in lovely countryside. Oh and there was some coffee drinking.
The evening we headed to an restaurant than had tofu bergers and salads on the menu. Any noise and associated atmosphere was not part of the experience however. It was a bit like having a meal in an elevator, no music and occasional wispers was the rule. The food was good but more expensive than usual, we really needed to eat better after recent days.
