Liz said goobye to each fluffy pillow and the TV - Xmas treat was over. We headed on a room hunt. Hostels were above our budget and fully booked so I was feeling a bit nervous on where we might end up. The first hotel we tried above the neon daiseys of the restaurant we were at last night was surprisingly nice for half the cost of a hostel. To boot the place was clean with A/C, free coffee, cable TV and free Internet. The area towards the center did wiff a bit but now we didn't need to cross this to get to the more interesting bars.
It was hot real hot, Liz had a cold shower and flacked out under the A/C. This gave me enough time to backup some photos onto the Internet (I am constantly worried about losing photos).
During the backup it tipped it down for about an hour. The street outside in the blog picture shows the effect (sorry I don't have nice pictures on the iPhone of the nicer Cartagena).
We went out for an early dinner as we missed lunch. We found a scooter pub complete with pictures of London and vegy meals (one of the advantages of being somewhere more touristy). Colombia in general does not get active until midnight so this is not the time to discover Cartagena's nightlife.
We went back to save money watching TV, we more than likely stay put, the parties (and hangovers) of Bogota are still fresh in our minds.
