Hi guys! sorry about the delay....again! its so hard updating this blog when your having loads of fun!
Ok lets get you up to speed. We flew into Brisbane from New Zealand and we spent the night at my family's house before flying north to Darwin (another 4hours) the next day with my cousin and his girlfriend, we were going to the outback!
We landed in Darwin and were struck by the dead heat straight away, we don't now how or why people could live in this heat. The next day it cooled down a bit and we set off on our way for a week in another campervan. We went to Kakadu national park, Litchfield national park, Katherine and Mataranka. We did quite a few walks to scenic lookouts looking over gorges, mountains and flood plains some of the views were amazing. We went on a Jumping Crocodile cruise and were within 1/2 meter away from 5.5meter crocs! Every night we slept with the doors open due to the heat and watched as wild Kangaroos, wallabies etc would eat grass only a few feet from our heads! We also went swimming in creeks with little turtles and should have been littered with crocs but had since been cleared, but you still think as your swimming (what if they missed one??). We also went to some ancient aboriginal sites and looked at the paintings and where they use to live. Its strange camping in Australia as nature is literally on top of you, wild animals are everywhere however that also means insects, lizards and frogs are too, so brushing your teeth in the shower blocks last thing at night was alwlays quite interesting.
