With our plans dashed for the day due to the transport strike, we were just taking it easy. Most museums are closed on Monday so I thought we would be hanging around the hotel and go sit at a café. Oh well what do I know. I did take advantage of good weather for the third day in a row, and went and ran. This was the second day in a row I was able to run and I actually felt pretty good all things considered (fat, out of shape, and missing workouts). I actually spent the morning catching up this stupid blog. Robyn spent the morning looking for something for us to do, she always has to be doing something, she just can't take a day to rest. She found a museum that was opened it was a movie special effects and miniatures museum located in Vieux Lyon, or on the other side of the Soane river (longer walk). On the walk over to the museum we stopped at a crepe shop and had lunch, as usual Robyn has to take a picture and she always gets me in the picture, I am not happy. The museum was actually pretty cool, it had a lot of special effects miniatures used in several science fiction movies, such as Alien, Alien 2, Independence Day, Star Wars, and several of the Batman movies. They were a whole lot of movies that I had never heard of mostly because they were released only in Europe. One thing they did have was a view of one of the workshops where they are restoring various special effects. They were currently working on the sick Triceratops from Jurassic Park, and a C3PO. The last items they had were miniaturized rooms 1/12the of real size. The detail was actually amazing.
As we finished the museum Robyn started feeling ill so we slowly worked our way back to the hotel. That pretty much finished us for the day. We did check on our two trains for tomorrow and both are running. The first from Lyon leaves at 8 am so we have an early start to the day tomorrow.
