VIAJE SEXTO DÍA
Portugal is pretty cool. I like it a lot. The language seems to have more arabic influences which is really interesting. Like the capital in english is Lisbon, in spanish and portuguese it's Lisboa but in Portuguee you pronounce it Lishboa. And the town we visited today, Cascais, is pronounced with the sh s' too. Very interesting. So we roamed around a small town first where there was a palace but you had to pay to get in so we toured the little town instead. It was very pretty and full of tourist shops all full of cork and roosters. I guess the cork is made there and roosters are a sign of good luck or something but they are just everywhere.
Then we stopped to look at a beach, which was just gorgeous. There were people out surfing and I was finding out the name of the place so that tomorrow for our free day I can go. It's really my only goal for Portugal. Then we saw a bit of Cascais. I didn't tour it as much as the other one but I just fell in love with it. It's so close to beautiful beaches for surfing and has a little harbour and a tiny amount of sand but lots of fishing boats and lobster traps but then the small streets and old buildings. We also found the best gilato we've ever had in our live, including Cristina who's italian (but from new jersey), it was amazing. I actually want to live there. I feel like I could learn portuguese and be a receptionist in a hotel with my other language skills and then spend my time off eating gilato and surfing. I have a lot of living plans for my life so I'll be happy where ever I end up, but some time in Portugal would definitely be nice. Oh dad there's a university in Cascais - go there for your sabbatical and I will take another year off :)
Now we're going out. Lisboa night life is supposed to be better than Madrid's. We just did a little shopping and I bought a dress at the cutest little store, and we are going to have a very very good night.
