From Mui Ne we went to Ho Chi Minh, I'd heard a lot of people say that they didn't like it so wasn't sure what to expect but I loved the place. We had a fairly quiet first night, just had some food and watched a film.
The next day I decided to get some street food before we went to the Ho Chi Minh museum. I was really enjoying and was happy because it was so cheap but then I looked down and saw a grub crawling out of the box, I was horrified and couldn't finish the rest of it, it put me off eating for the rest of the day! We then went to sort out my visa for Cambodia, which turned out to be a mission and took up most of the afternoon.
Matt arrived from Da Lat that evening so we met up with him and got some food before having a few drinks. The following day we had to be up quite early as we had booked a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels. We got taken through the tunnels, they were so small in some parts that we had to slid along on our bums. Just as we were getting towards the end some said they'd spotted a bat, I don't think I've ever crawled so fast in my life! Just as I was at the end one flew past my head, I was relieved to be out of there!
That night we had a big night out, we ended up in a bar buying bottles of rum. Not sure how it came about but me and Matt decided it would be a good idea for us to swap clothes so he put my skirt on and I put his shorts on, we looked ridiculous but we found it funny!
We were all a little worse for wear the next day but got up to go to the War Remnants Museum. I found it really upsetting; the photo's were really graphic showing American soldiers standing by bodies of dead children or the heads of the people they'd killed. It was really interesting but very sad.
We had another night out that night before setting off to Phnom Penh the following morning. I was just passing through as I was hading back to Bangkok before going to Chiang Mai. I had three days of bus journeys ahead of me!
