Crossing over the border was an easy trip, although for some reason only some people had to pay extra for crossing it as it was a weekend and they were working overtime....I was one of the people that had to pay extra. Its nice travelling by bus for a few hours during the day as you get to see all kinda of daily life going on. We were only in Udon Thani for 1 night as we had a flight booked for Bangkok. Can tell we are back in thailand as there as 7-11 stores...

Had a fairly pleasant 13 hour sleeper bus journey from bangkok to chang mai arrived around 8am to our guesthouse and no one was around so we had to wake them up. Chang Mai is a nice little city.....it feels quite small compared to bangkok but it is the 2nd largest city in thailand.
