Tuesday 22nd
Lazy day until lunch time and find out the van is fixed, so we take off for Valencia. The new navigation toy was working wonders today leading us right to the campsite. Brought some steak for finally some good red meat as both feeling a bit worse for wear and needing some nutrition.
Wednesday 23rd
After sleeping under the stars with the bed bugs we venture into Valencia for the day. We meet a Russian girl who spoke very good English and gave us a quick idea of where to go in the city. We made it to a large catholic cathedral which we did an audio tour around, the cathedral held the chalice which was supposably used in the last supper.
We climbed 210 steps to the top of a tower to get a 360 degree view of the city. Deciding to get out of the 36 degree heat we head back to the campsite for a lie down as Margot was quite sick.
We went to a little restaurant not far from the campsite to try the national dish- paella. Essentially it is a rice risotto dish. It originated from Valencia so it was only fitting that we tried there. The area where we camped was also surrounded by field of rice paddys so it must be a region known for producing rice. The paella was good, though Margot couldn't really taste it and had a very small appetite. We got a chicken one, mainly they are seafood.
Slept under the stars again as it was so freaken hot.
