A Long Way from Home
While doing some reasearch about the Kansai Province in Japan, Margaret stumbled upon a popular ice cream shop in Kyoto. Our Lonely Planet says that "Japan is famous for its plastic food models, but this place takes them to a whole new level- it's like some futuristic dessert museum."
This cafe requires an advance reservation if you're going to order the "mother of all sundaes" (see photo) which costs 18,000 yen ($223)!! They do seem to have a wide variety of other parfaits and meals, for a much more reasonable price.
I'm not sure if we'll go there, but isn't it fun to think of all the amazing treats they have there?
