Been to Cape Tribulation over the weekend, was amazing, but unfortunately the wet season began, so most of the time it was raining, but never mind. It was just fabulous to see the untouched nature and the oldest rainforest in the world. I've not even got bitten by those nasty mozzis. The first day on the way up I wasn't really able to do or see much, not even to take pictures, I didn't eat anything for breakfast, so I felt very sick on the bus. But it was ok after a while. When we got to the hostel in the afternoon, I fell asleep straight away.
The next morning I did a horse riding tour... That was probably the best thing you can do up there. We were pretty lucky with the weather, cause it just stopped raining before we started and just a minute after we finished we couldn't believe what happend. The weather just got horrible...
The actual horse riding was unbelievable. My horse was really friendly :) We were riding along the beach and discovered the rainforest. That took about 3-4 hrs. The trainers wanted us all (even the beginners) to ride really fast, so sometimes you really had trouble keeping the horse under control and you had to hold... It turned out that my horse didn't wanna let the others passed her, so it was kind of difficult at the end and she nearly threw me off. BUT I'm still alive and I really enjoyed that tour...
Now I'm back in Cairns, just booked my flight to Darwin on Friday. I probably just hang around with some people the rest of the time. Or maybe I visit the Botanical Gardens or the flying Doctor Service, which I wanted to do since I came here!
Take Care,
Love Mandy
